Taylor Mathews

I recently did the album packaging for Taylor Mathews for his upcoming release “Do What You Want To”. Taylor is a crazy talented pop/rock artist from Louisiana (now based in Los Angeles) and a super nice guy, check out his album when it drops in early December! http://taylormathewsmusic.com/

For the direction I was given the cover photo (taken by Darin Rios) and the lighting was very moody and dark, and Taylor is an old soul and so I decided to go with a worn, vintage vibe. Originally I wanted to use the LP logo found on the original Columbia records vinyls from the 50s and 60s, but due to copyright concerns I created a similar but different logo instead. It still helps make it feel throwback I think 🙂 For the script I couldn’t find one I liked, so I pulled out my trusty wacom tablet and hand wrote all of it.
